Dr. Rosa Pothier

Downtown Boise Office

“I believe that open communication, honesty, and the willingness to build a trusting relationship is key towards helping my patients on the journey towards their oral health goals.”

My Philosophy

Dr. Rosa Pothier believes that dentistry should do more than just fix teeth—it should support the whole person. Her approach is rooted in connection, trust, and the belief that oral health is a vital part of overall well-being. With advanced training in sedation, surgery, esthetics, airway, and holistic care, Dr. Rosa blends a science-backed integrative philosophy with a calm, cooperative style that puts even the most anxious patients at ease and in control of their individual dental goals.

A native of Twin Falls, Idaho, Dr. Rosa’s journey into dentistry began as a dental assistant, where she discovered her passion for patient-centered care. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through Idaho State University. There, she expanded her skills in areas such as implant placement, third molar extractions, and conscious sedation—offering a full-spectrum, comfort-first approach for patients seeking a gentler dental experience.

Today, Dr. Rosa integrates her clinical expertise with a whole-body lens, educating patients on how oral health connects to systemic health, sleep, and nutrition. She is especially passionate about transforming the dental experience for those with dental anxiety, showing patients that dentistry can be empowering, not scary.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Rosa is deeply involved in her community. She helped establish Idaho’s Women in Dentistry Society, a component of the Idaho State Dental Association that supports and connects female dentists across the state. She also lends her time to volunteer care initiatives like the Genesis Clinic and Give Kids a Smile.

Personal Background

I have spent the majority of my life in Idaho and many of my friends and family live in the Treasure Valley. Being a local, I have a strong commitment to this community and I value the relationships I create with my patients both in and out of the office. Aside from my practice, I also devote my time to my fellow female dentists in the community through the Women in Dentistry society that I helped establish here in Idaho. This group is a component of the Idaho State Dental Association and works to support female dentists in the Treasure Valley and throughout the state. Although the graduating female dentists across the country are now about fifty percent, Idaho still lags behind with only less than ten percent of practicing female dentists. Through this group, we are able to connect, support and collaborate with each other to navigate the unique issues and aspects of this career that we encounter in our professional and private lives. This has been a very rewarding experience and along with the other dental groups that I am also a part of, has been instrumental in expanding my knowledge and continually improving the level of care for my patients.
