Laser Dentistry

Lasers have become a very useful auxilary tool for dentists.  A soft-tissue laser uses light energy perform over 25 (and counting!) FDA approved procedures.  These procedures include:

  • -Soft Tissue Surgery (Biopsies, etc)
  • -Frenulectomies
  • -Smile Recontouring/gingivectomy
  • -Apthous ulcer/canker sore desensitization
  • -Tooth desensitization
  • -Periodontal Therapy

    • Diode lasers have some distinct advantages over traditional methods:

  • Less anesthetic
  • Less tissue trauma and associated inflammation
  • Cauterization
  • No sutures (and no follow-up appointment to have them removed!)
  • Procedures that just cannot be done any other way!
